Late Arrivals and Absences: Email afno.attendance@dodea.edu if your child will be late/absent before the start of school. In the ‘Subject’ line, please include your students FULL name and grade. For absences of 3+ days, a completed Planned Absence form is required.
Letter from the Principal:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On November 5th and 6th, students will be dismissed early at 12:30 PM to accommodate our scheduled Parent/Student Conferences.
Families of students in grades 6 through 11 will receive a separate invitation to participate in a Student-Led Conference. This format provides students with the opportunity to share their academic goals, reflect on challenges, and celebrate successes across their subjects using their digital portfolios.
The purpose of these portfolios is twofold:
- To encourage students to engage in meaningful reflection about their learning and personal growth, beyond the grades reflected in Aspen.
- To help students build a comprehensive, ongoing portfolio that can support future applications for college, scholarships, and career opportunities during their senior year.
Student-Led Conferences will take place between 1:00–2:00 PM on both days. The time slots from 2:00–4:00 PM are reserved for individual parent-teacher conferences. If you would like to schedule a meeting with a specific teacher, please contact them directly via email at: firstname.lastname@dodea.edu
We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s academic journey.
Warm regards,
Heather Rhine
Principal, US Middle High School
