BRUNSSUM, Netherlands — The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps unit at AFNORTH Middle High School earned the highest possible rating of “Exceeds Standards” following its official unit assessment conducted Feb. 25, 2026.

The rating is awarded to AFJROTC programs that demonstrate exceptional performance in leadership development, curriculum instruction, community service, and cadet operations. During the evaluation, the AFNORTH cadet corps achieved a perfect score on the graded checklist, reflecting the program’s strong culture of discipline, teamwork, and leadership.

As part of the assessment, cadets conducted formal Reveille and Retreat ceremonies, performed an open ranks inspection, executed regulation drill demonstrations, and delivered a cadet-led briefing outlining the unit’s mission, accomplishments, and service contributions. Evaluators noted the cadets’ professionalism, attention to detail, and pride in their program throughout the inspection process.

The program is led by retired Air Force instructors Col. (Ret.) Raymond Robidoux and Senior Master Sgt. (Ret.) Dennis Parise, who guide cadets through leadership training and character development aligned with Air Force core values of integrity, service, and excellence. Their mentorship helps cultivate accountability, teamwork, and high standards among the cadet wing.

Cadet leadership also played a central role in the successful evaluation. Cadet Capt. Philipp B. and Cadet 1st Lt. Benjamin M. helped lead the cadet wing in planning and executing all required activities during the inspection, ensuring the unit successfully completed all specified and implied tasks.

School leaders said the achievement highlights the dedication and professionalism of the cadets and instructors while reinforcing the program’s impact on the school community.

Through leadership training, service projects, and structured mentorship, the AFNORTH AFJROTC program continues to develop students into leaders of character prepared for future success in college, careers, and military service.
