AFNORTH International School hosts STEAM night featuring interactive learning activities
BRUNSSUM, Netherlands — AFNORTH International School hosted its 2026 STEAM Night on Feb. 5, welcoming families, students, military members, community partners and educators for an evening focused on hands-on exploration and academic discovery.
Centered on this year’s theme, “Move It!,” the event featured more than 30 interactive Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics activities designed to engage learners of all ages while promoting curiosity, problem-solving and innovation.
Families and students filled each level of the school while participating in activities that included launching Alka-Seltzer rockets, testing catapults, building marble runs, coding with BeeBots and experimenting with floating balls and zip-line gliders. Attendees also explored robotics demonstrations, navigated obstacle courses, participated in a silent disco and collaborated on engineering challenges that reinforced real-world STEM applications.
In addition to the hands-on STEAM stations, middle and high school students presented science fair projects and showcased creative arts work. The student displays highlighted research skills, technical knowledge and creative expression, reflecting the school’s commitment to academic rigor and student achievement.
“STEAM Night provides students the opportunity to apply classroom learning through hands-on experiences while allowing families to actively engage in the learning process,” said a school representative. “Events like this strengthen school-community partnerships and support student growth through interactive education.”
The event received strong participation from families, staff members, student leaders, military representatives and community partners, demonstrating AFNORTH International School’s collaborative approach to student learning and engagement.
